You have logged in and you are standing in Edgeville. That is home, and ::home brings you back to this spot from anywhere.
Look around Edgeville first
Everything you need early on is within a few steps of the spawn: the bank, the shops, and the teleport interface. Have a walk around before you go anywhere — it saves a lot of running later.
Check your bank
If you made a Normal account you were given a starter kit and a bank to go with it. Open it and see what you have before you buy anything. Ironmen start with far less, on purpose.
Learn the teleport menu
This is the single most useful thing on the server. It is organised into tabs:

Learn the teleport menu
This is the single most useful thing on the server. It is organised into tabs:
- Favourites — the ones you mark yourself. Fill this in as you go.
- Bosses — every safe boss. Nobody can attack you at any of these.
- Monsters — training spots and slayer areas, from Rock Crabs up to Demonic Gorillas.
- Skilling — one destination per gathering and artisan skill.
- Minigames — Barrows, Fight Caves, Inferno, Pest Control, Wintertodt and more.
- PvP — everything here is in the wilderness. Other players can attack you and you can lose what you are carrying. Nothing outside this tab can.
Learn four commands
- ::commands — the full list of what you personally can type.
- ::home — back to Edgeville.
- ::players — who is online.
- ::drops — the drop table for a monster, before you go and fight it.
There is no wrong one. Some starting points:
- Slayer — gets you combat levels and drops at the same time, and is the most reliable early money.
- Easy bosses — Giant Mole and Kalphite Queen are both in the Bosses tab and both forgiving.
- Skilling — every skill is in and every skill has a teleport.
